I had group four today. For the uninitiated: Group Four is a project that all IB sciences have to do together and it's supposed to teach us how the sciences are interrelated, used in real life and apply to environmental/ethical issues. Really it's just dinking around for a day. Our topic was soap and water.
Exciting news!
Soap is combustible. It is flammable, and it melts and turns brown. And you can stil use it afterwards.
Also, it conducts electricity in solution. :D

Indeed. But Fume Hoods! and Nearly burning down the chemistry lab!
It is worth it, I think.

That was the first time I saw cowan(sp?) yell. Congrats.

I recently had the pleasure of witnessing an educator in a children's museum incinerate a soap bubble. He had infused the bubble mixture with hydrogen. That was neat!

Also, I didn't realize you were doing the IB (I assume you mean the International Baccalaureat) -- I did it years and years ago, but from watching my sister go through it now, I thinkit's changed quite a bit since the early 90s. For example, I didn't have nearly so much fun in chem class.
